You wrote Merlin's anger and hurt at the beginning so perfectly - it's exactly how I imagine he must feel, more and more so as time moves on. You got both characters spot on, and the final tree-slamming, depserate, needy sexual encounter was so apt for repressed Arthur and finally-letting-it-rip Merlin.

Then you write this tender and heartfelt ending and remind us of the love. Fantastic.
