I really liked the changing levels of intimacy in and around sex/relationships, etc. I think it was sort of assumed that Merlin and Arthur's relationship would immediately progress so a sexual one, but it didn't, although they were intimate in every other way. I can imagine that is maybe what gutted Merlin so when he overheard Leon and Arthur arguing- that the level of emotional intimacy they had shared was not something unique and special but perhaps a "flavor of the month".
Either way, I could go on about sexual vs. emotional intimacy and how you wound the two throughout the story, but maybe I am just reading way to much into things (it happens) and I don't want to get my ramble on and make an idiot of myself (oops...too late)
Besides, it all works out in the end, with the nice convergence of sexual and emotional intimacy in some very hot sex. Which is just a great way to wrap things up, imho. Fantastic job with this! <3
